Akitsu is a small port town in Higashi Hiroshima facing the Seto Inland Sea. Historically, it functioned as a harbour along the maritime routes of the Seto Inland Sea, where vessels waited for suitable winds and tides. The town remains closely connected to fishing and small-scale maritime activity.

Akitsu is also known in the history of Japanese sake as the birthplace of Miura Senzaburō, whose brewing methods helped establish modern ginjō sake production in Hiroshima during the Meiji period.

This tour uses local fishing boats operated in cooperation with local fishermen to travel through the Seto Inland Sea to Ryūōjima, an uninhabited island. There's free time on the island and a BBQ dinner featuring local Setouchi produce and Hiroshima sake. The evening includes viewing the Akitsu fireworks festival from the water before returning to Hiroshima by private bus.

Itinerary

• 15:30 | Meet at Akitsu Station (JR Kure Line)
  Walking tour of the port town area with guide and staff.

• 17:00 | Departure from Akitsu Hayatawara Port
  Board local fishing boats and cruise through the Seto Inland Sea to Ryūōjima.

• 17:30–20:10 | Ryūōjima
  Free time and BBQ dinner on the uninhabited island.

• 20:30–21:00 | Firework viewing cruise
  View the Akitsu fireworks festival from the boat.

• 21:15 | Return to Akitsu Hayatawara Port

• 21:30 | Private bus departs for Hiroshima
  Expected arrival in central Hiroshima around 23:00.
